Wakefield High School’s spring musical, Once On This Island is in it’s last weekend of performances. The last to run this Saturday evening.

Written by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty, the musical is based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy, the same story that Hans Christian Anderson based The Little Mermaid on. The musical is a Caribbean tale about a orphaned peasant girl, Ti Moune and her love for a rich grand home. The gods of the island take her on a colorful journey to find out which is stronger, love or death.
