Arts on the Horizon – Offering Spring Theatre Classes for Kids

Arts on the Horizon, a non-profit children’s theater company, which focuses primarily on performances and classes for children 0-6, is currently accepting registrations for its spring session of classes.

Wee Stories Come to Life, an interactive story time which will have your child moving around the room and singing such classic children’s songs like Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed and Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar? Come and wiggle with your wee one. This class for children ages 18mo-3 years old and their parent/caregiver, will be held at Del Ray United Methodist Church on Thursdays from 10am-10:30am.

Stories Come to Life: Tales from Around the World, a creative drama class which brings to life folktales from around the world. We will creep through the jungle with a very greedy spider and travel to a palace in India to learn of the friendship between an elephant and a dog. Kindness, friendship and honesty will be the focus of the tales for our class. This class for children 3-5 years old, will be held at Del Ray United Methodist Church. We are offering this class at two different times: a morning class on Tuesdays from 10am-11am and an afternoon class on Thursdays from 4pm-5pm.

Beginning Acting, this class introduces the basic skills that every budding actor should know. Your child will participate in traditional actor warm ups, improvisational exercises and theatre games – all of which will help them build confidence and enhance basic problem-solving skills. This class for children 5-7 years old, will be held on Tuesdays from 4-5pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, on Ft. Hunt Road.

Classes begin April 12th.
