Supporting Your Child’s Transition from Kindergarten to Preschool

Parents of preschool students with disabilities are invited to join us for a session on how families can support their child’s transition from preschool programs to kindergarten. The session will be presented by Bernadette Charlton, Pre-school Special Education Coordinator, and Kathleen Donovan, Special Education Coordinator at the Parent Resource Center. ADHD Monthly Parent Support Network
Wednesday, January 26, 2011: 7:00pm to 8:30pm
The ADHD Monthly Parent Support Network will meet monthly to address topics of interest to families of children with ADHD, and provide an opportunity for parents to receive information on designated topics, as well as opportunities to participate in discussions and resource sharing with other parents, staff and guest speakers. Registration is requested to ensure adequate handouts, although walk-ins are most welcome.

Facilitating Independence at Home for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Thursday, February 10, 2011: 7:00p.m. to 8:30pm
Parents, caregivers and other relatives are invited to learn how to help their loved one with autism spectrum disorder become more independent with activities at home, such as getting ready for school, doing chores, completing homework, and other daily life routines. This session will be presented by Arlington Public Schools’ Autism Specialists Lauren Bonnet and Deborah Hammer. This session will be simultaneously interpreted in Spanish and Amharic Languages.
