Winter Wonderland @ Market Common Clarendon (Arlington)
Santa will be visiting the Market Common at Clarendon and is planning to arrive by firetruck at 1pm! Stick around for visits and photos with Santa until 5pm! Enjoy festive holiday activities and entertainment from 1 – 5pm. MIX 107.3 will be here with the US Marines, accepting donations for Toys for Tots from 10 am until 3 pm and doing a live broadcast.

Bilingual Children’s Concert Featuring, Jose Luis Orozco @ Arlington Central Library
Bilingual educator, children’s author, and recording artist, Jose Luis Orozco will have a FREE children’s concert starting at 2pm in the Central Library auditorium.

Yogi Bear – Arlington Kids Advance Movie Screening @ AMC Theater (Tysons)
Attend an advance screening of the Yogi Bear movie at 11am for FREE. You must get passes in advance. See here for more info on how to reserve your space.

6th Annual Wheels to Africa Bike Collection @ Various Locations
Donate a new or used bike to Wheels to Africa, a nonprofit organization whose principal purpose is to work with local youth, ages 10-18, to organize local bike collections and send the donated bikes to communities in Africa. The bikes are used to provide basic transportation for people to reach school, food, water, and medical care. A donated bike can change a life.

A $10 donation is requested with each donated bike to help cover the costs for collecting, storing, and shipping the bikes. A 10 percent discount coupon will be provided from local bicycle stores good toward the purchase of a new bike. Wheels to Africa is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. A receipt will be provided for your tax-deductible contributions.

Children’s Kwanzaa Craft Workshop @ Black History Museum (Alexandria)
Jessica Smith, founder of Culture Kingdom Kids, and Kwanzaa educator Pier Penic will direct children (ages 4-12) and their parents in making Kwanzaa crafts. This event will be located in the Museum’s Watson Reading Room from 1pm to 3pm. Advance reservations requested. $5 fee covers craft supplies. 703.746.4356

Russian Winter Festival @ The Hillwood Estate (DC)
Spend the holidays at Hillwood in Old Russian style. Celebrate Sviatki, the Christmas season, in snowy, wintry Russia! Russian Folk Music, Russian Folk Music, Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden, Russian Hat Workshop.
Saturday, December 11, 10am–7pm | Sunday, December 12, 1–5pm
$18, $12 Member, $7 College Student, $5 Children ages 6-18

Book Ornament Workshop @ Hooray For Books (Alexandria)
Kids create, color, and decorate a book ornament for the tree – they should bring along a couple of photos to cut and use. Advance registration ($15) is required. Age 3 and up.
