  2. Arlington Public Library (Open Saturday) has a book list appropriate for the holiday weekend.
  3. Teddy Bear Parade (Alexandria)
    Parade prizes for children age 3-11 and their teddy bears, dressed as a figure in American history; Victorian games and activities; and face painting. 10 a.m.-noon, Lee-Fendall House Museum, 614 Oronoco St., Alexandria.

  5. Arlington Neighborhood 4th of July Parades

    Barcroft:
    The 22nd annual 4th of July parade will start in front of the community house at 10:00 sharp..on the 4th of July. Beat the heat and give the children a show inside the community house, this year Magic Mountain Puppets will join in for two special performances on Freedom and what it means to be an American. Music will be provided by Frank Cassels the Banjo Man with lots of traditional Yankee Doodle Flair.

    Fairlington:
    The Fairlington Parade is sponsored by the Fairlington Citizens Association and hosted by Fairlington Village. Fairlington 4th of July Parade. July 4th at 9:45am at the Fairlington Fire Station #7, 3116 S Abingdon. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the parade at the North Fairlington Community Center, 3005 S. Abingdon.
