Supporting Social Communication Skills for Students on the Autism Spectrum

Parents and staff members are invited to attend the Special Education Parent Resource Center’s final session for the 2009-2010 school year.  We are delighted to welcome Dr. Laurie Alderman, Arlington Public Schools Coordinator for Autism Services, who will present “Supporting Social Communication Skills for Students on the Autism Spectrum”  on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m at the Parent Resource Center, 2801 Clarendon Boulevard, Third Floor, Arlington, VA  22201.

During this session, Dr. Alderman will identify aspects of social interaction and communication that are often challenging for students with autism, and will discuss effective strategies for supporting the development of social communication skills in students on the autism spectrum.
