Arlington Walk’s and Bike’s

International Walk or Ride Your Bike to School Day,” held every October to promote good health and environmental awareness in communities across the nation. This years featured school was Arlington’s own, Abingdon Elementary.

We had over 400 attendees at Abingdon alone. Parents, students and several special guests. Ranger Rick and David Mizejewski from the National Wildlife Federation and Animal Planet were there to greet folks and helped kids make the connection between walking and being good stewards of our environment.

A high energy warm-up was led by Mr. Reed Abingdon’s P.E. teacher.
It was a blast seeing parents, children, teachers APS administrators and a giant raccoon (Ranger Rick) moving and shaking. It set a wonderful tone for the day!
